The latest Wrangler keeps its signature seven-slot grille but now sports a refreshed appearance with black grainy slots, neutral gray metallic trims, and a grille that matches the body color. According to the company, this revamped grille not only elevates the vehicle's looks but also boosts its cooling capabilities.
Another change is the trail-ready stealth antenna, which is integrated into the front windshield, taking the place of the former steel mast antenna. This change results in a more aerodynamic and less obtrusive design. Moreover, buyers in Europe can opt for one of five brand-new wheel designs, with sizes ranging from 17 to 20 inches.
The interior of the 2024 Wrangler has also been upgraded, featuring an array of enhanced tech offerings. The highlight is a standard 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, which is the most expansive and sophisticated display ever installed in a Wrangler. This system operates on new software that is compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. On the safety front, Drowsy Driver Alert, Lane Departure Warning, and Traffic Sign Information systems are now standard across all trim levels.
For the European market, the updated Wrangler will mainly offer a single powertrain option, with a slight deviation. The Wrangler 4xe pairs a four-cylinder internal combustion engine with a hybrid system, delivering a combined 380 horsepower (280 kW) and 637 Nm (470 lb-ft) of torque. It offers a WLTP range of up to 51 km (32 miles) in an urban environment. Through a variety of E Selec modes, drivers can adjust the hybrid system to meet their specific driving requirements, be it fully electric, a mix of electric and fuel power, or conserving battery life for particular situations.
For 2024 model year, Jeep equipped the PHEV vehicle with a Power Box including 4 x 230 Volt outlets that can power and charge external devices.
If you're in the market for a Wrangler featuring a conventional internal combustion engine, a limited number of 2024 Wranglers equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine will be sold in selected European countries including Germany, Italy, Poland, and Spain. This engine produces 172 hp (200 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque and is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The refreshed 2024 Wrangler will be offered in Shara and Rubicon trims, with the first units expected to arrive in Europe in the first half of 2024. Jeep said all of its models will offer an electrified variant by 2025, before becoming a pure EV brand in Europe by 2030.
