Chery has introduced its new light off-road SUV, the Jetour Traveller, in China. The vehicle is styled by Hakan Saracoglu, a designer formerly associated with Porsche. The SUV is available in six different configurations, priced between 139,900 and 184,900 yuan (equating to 19,100 - 25,200 USD).

Featuring a quintessential square box shape typical of off-road SUVs, the Jetour Traveller also comes with a traditional spare box mounted at the back, front tow hooks, unique wheel arches, sidebars, and roof racks. Customers can choose from seven exterior color options, including shades like black, gray, orange, tan, and silver.

Built on Chery's Kunlun platform, the Jetour Traveller is categorized as a compact SUV designed for light off-road use. It has dimensions of 4785/2006/1880 mm and a 2800 mm wheelbase. The vehicle boasts an approach angle of 28°, a departure angle of 30°, a minimum ground clearance of 220 mm, and a fording depth of 700 mm.

Inside the cabin, upholstery is available in various hues like black, red, green, orange, and brown, fabricated with suede-like material. The interior features a 15.6-inch central touchscreen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor, a 10.25-inch all-LCD dashboard, and a 64-inch panoramic sunroof. Additional amenities include voice and facial recognition, 4G connectivity, OTA software updates, and remote control functionalities.

Under the hood, the Jetour Traveller comes with three powertrain choices: a two-wheel drive 1.5TD+7DCT, a four-wheel drive 2.0TD+7DCT, and a four-wheel drive 2.0TD+8AT. The 1.5T engine produces a top power output of 184 hp and peak torque of 290 Nm, with fuel consumption at 8.35L/100km. The 2.0T engine, developed in-house by Chery, offers a maximum power of 254 hp, peak torque of 390 Nm, and has a fuel consumption rate of 8.83L/100km. Some variants also feature XWD intelligent four-wheel drive systems.

According to Chery, the Jetour Traveller can operate in six distinct driving modes—sports, standard, economy, grass, mud, and rocky—plus an X driving mode. This X mode can automatically assess road conditions and adjust to the optimal driving mode for enhanced performance.
