This is the second time in the past 13 months that a foreign model has been the best-selling vehicle in Germany, after the Tesla Model Y took the top spot in September 2022.

A thunderbolt at the top of the model charts: the Fiat 500 takes its first ever pole position in Germany. Its previous record was #2 in November 2022. 

What else is important: the EV version accounts for 33% of its October volume.

Overall, the German new car market rose 5.1% year-on-year in October to 218,959 sales, still well below the growth rate it has shown for most of this year. In fact, the year-to-date volume is up 13.7% to 2,357,025.
