The subcompact crossover now offers a Hybrid 130 powertrain, combining a 1.5-liter engine with a potent electric motor to deliver 132 hp (97 kW) and 185 Nm of torque. This enhancement reduces 0-100 km/h acceleration time to 10.7 seconds, a 0.4-second improvement, while maintaining CO2 emissions between 103 and 122 g/km.
The existing Hybrid 115 option continues with 116 hp (85 kW) and 141 Nm of torque. Toyota emphasizes the importance of self-charging hybrid technology, which has led to the discontinuation of ICE-only versions in Europe.
Externally, the Yaris Cross maintains its design, adding a Juniper Blue color and an exclusive Urban Khaki hue for the Premiere Edition trim. This trim, along with the GR Sport, features the improved hybrid powertrain, with the latter offering a sportier chassis from Gazoo Racing.
Inside, the vehicle boasts upgraded technology with 7-inch or 12.3-inch digital instrument clusters and 9-inch or 10.4-inch infotainment touchscreens, featuring the enhanced Toyota Smart Connect system. This includes over-the-air updates and wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The Yaris Cross also introduces the Smart Digital Key with remote control capabilities and refreshed interior upholstery and design. Engineers have improved comfort by reducing noise and vibration through various enhancements, including a dynamic damper, triple-layer insulation, and thicker glass for windows.
Safety features have also been upgraded, with the Toyota T-Mate kit now including a new camera and radar, Pre-Collision System, Acceleration Suppression, Proactive Driving Assist, Safe Exit Assist, Rear Seat Reminder System, and an improved Adaptive Cruise Control.
The updated Toyota Yaris Cross will soon be available for online reservations in specific European markets, with detailed pricing information to be announced closer to the market launch.
