Gensol Electric Vehicles recently teased their upcoming production model, the Gensol EV. Tailored for urban environments, this model is set to be produced in India and is touted to set new standards in technology for its segment.

The teaser video offers a sneak peek into the Gensol EV's design, revealing its compact size. Viewers are treated to glimpses of its headlights, taillights, and small wheels, as well as part of its bodywork. Intriguingly, a top-down view suggests a sunroof. Reflections hint at a possible three-wheel design, though a closely-spaced four-wheel configuration cannot be ruled out.

Inside, the Gensol EV promises a modern touch with a standalone infotainment touchscreen and traditional rotary A/C controls on the center console.

Specifics about the battery and electric powertrain are yet to be disclosed, but Gensol promises a range exceeding 200 km (124 miles) and a top speed of 80 km/h (50 mph). The vehicle's small stature belies its technological prowess, featuring AI integration, an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS), automated parking, and what is described as 'autonomous navigation'.

Slated for a March 2024 debut, the Gensol EV will be produced in Gensol's facility in Chakan, India. Pricing is expected to be between Rs 5-6 Lakh ($6,000-7,200), potentially making it the most affordable EV in its region.

Gensol Electric Vehicles operates under the umbrella of Ahmedabad-based Gensol Engineering, which also owns the ride-sharing company BluSmart Electric Mobility.
