Schaeffler will return to CES in January after a four-year absence. The company will showcase a "next-generation" all-solid-state EV battery.
“Schaeffler’s solid-state battery at CES is made with prototype parts encased in a pack built by another company that specializes in making small samples on the lab scale,” reports AutoWeek.
The report also links this news to a collaboration between Honda, Schaeffler, and the Ohio State University Institute for Materials and Manufacturing Research (OSU) on a new battery research center that is expected to open in 2025.
This center will work on a reliable and low-cost battery that can be charged quickly and offers improved performance and cold-weather range compared to current commercial options.
