Some details about the updated Toyota Camry sedan for the Chinese market, which is produced jointly with the local GAC, have been revealed. It turned out that the hardware of the car's media system is quite in line with modern smartphones.

The media system of the updated Toyota Camry for China is based on SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155. The RAM and flash memory are 12GB and 128GB respectively. Thus, in terms of RAM, this car-based media system has surpassed even the new Samsung Galaxy S24. However, the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones have the same amount of RAM as the Camry - up to 12 GB.

Toyota claims that the interface is smooth and fast. Voice control is also much better, and the media system can now also use "intelligent 3D facial recognition".

Toyota and its Chinese partners are making a big bet on the Camry. This sedan, along with a new electric crossover and a large electric sedan, should help bring the number of car owners of this brand in China to 10 million units.
