JAC was a contract manufacturer of Nio electric vehicles and is now utilising the experience gained in its own new generation vehicles. The Hunter EV boasts a double cabin, 205mm ground clearance and a 1.81 metre long load platform.
The vehicle is 5.62 metres long, 1.96 metres wide and 1.92 metres high. The pickup truck is based on a frame structure.
Judging by the available photos, the expensive versions of the JAC Hunter will feature a dashboard with a 7-inch display and a larger vertical display of the multimedia system. Over-the-air software updates, electric seat adjustment, automatic climate control and ambient interior lighting are promised.
A special feature of the new JAC is a twin-motor powertrain that provides all-wheel drive. At the moment, most manufacturers of electric pickup trucks in China produce only rear-wheel drive vehicles. As an example, we can remember Great Wall Poer (Cannon), which has one electric motor installed on the rear axle.
The JAC Hunter's motors have power outputs of 70 and 160 kW and maximum torque of 176 and 342 Nm for the front and rear motors respectively. The capacity of the lithium-iron-phosphate battery pack is 88.02 kWh.
The manufacturer estimates the range of the JAC Hunter at 500 kilometres according to CTLC cycle tests. In reality, this value may be 250-300 kilometres for the warm season.
