The video, commissioned by the Italian Ministry of Transport, aims to raise awareness among young people about the causes of accidents.

A video made for the Italian Ministry of Transport shows four young women travelling in a car. The passenger in the front seat shows the video on her mobile phone. The driver is given the choice of watching the video immediately or after the car has stopped. In the first case, there will be an accident due to inattention. In the second case, there will be no accident.

However, viewers were quick to spot the problem. All the characters in the fictional story are not wearing seatbelts. In response to an enquiry by the AFP news agency, Italy's transport ministry said it may have made a mistake in the information campaign. It also drew attention to the three main causes of accidents among young drivers: smartphone use while driving, speeding and alcohol and/or drug use.
