Smart #5 significantly surpasses its predecessors in size, measuring 4,400 mm long. It integrates advanced features suitable for challenging terrains such as lifted suspension and all-terrain tires. Its design includes protective skid plates, limb risers, and sturdy plastic body cladding.
The Smart #5 will feature an all-wheel-drive system powered by two electric motors. The vehicle boasts an impressive battery capacity exceeding 100 kilowatt-hours, supporting a range of more than 549 km on the WLTP cycle. Its fast-charging ability allows it to charge from 10% to 80% in just 15 minutes.
Inside the cabin, luxury meets technology with a triple-layout display and amenities including massaging passenger seats, ventilation systems, and ambient lighting. The user experience is enhanced by modern innovations such as AI virtual assistants and removable speakers.
Production of Smart #5 is scheduled to start in the latter half of 2024. Please be advised that Smart has not been a wholly-owned Mercedes subsidiary since 2019. It is a 50:50 joint venture between the German luxury brand and Chinese Geely. The Smart #1 and Smart #3 models are built in China.
