Rec Watches has launched a new watch, the 98T/4, created from Ayrton Senna's 1986 Lotus 98T chassis number 4. It is available for pre-order at $3,195 and will retail at $3,995 starting March 2025.

The Lotus 98T driven by Senna participated in the final eight races of the 1986 season. The car featured a distinctive black and gold John Player Special livery. This marked the last year that livery appeared in Formula One.

The 98T/4 watch integrates materials directly from the Lotus race car. Its chapter ring is made from reforged aluminum sourced from the vehicle’s plenum tubes. The casing is stainless steel and it features a leather strap and sapphire crystal glass top.

This limited-edition watch will only see 989 units produced, reflecting the exclusivity and historical significance of its design. As of April 29, only 81 units remain available for pre-order.

The design mirrors the iconic black and gold color scheme of the vehicle. Additionally, with water resistance up to 100 meters, it blends style with functionality.

The use of components from Senna's car not only serves as a tribute but also preserves a piece of racing heritage. The Lotus 98T is notable for being driven by one of F1's legendary racers in its final appearance under the JPS livery.
