The timepieces blend rugged design elements representative of Jeep with the precision craftsmanship characteristic of Marathon Watches. The collection was announced on May 2, 2024.
The collaboration features two main product lines: the General Purpose Officer’s Series and the Search and Rescue Series. These lines incorporate distinct automotive touches from the Jeep Wrangler 1941 model. Design elements such as aged-Radium numerals and Crazy Horse leather straps highlight the General Purpose Officer’s Series, while red line indicators and durable dive bezels distinguish the Search and Rescue Series.
In terms of pricing and specifications, options vary within each series. The General Purpose Officer’s Series offers models ranging from $500 for a quartz movement piece to $650 for a mechanical movement version. Meanwhile, the Search and Rescue Series watches are priced between $1,200 for quartz models to $1,500 for automatic movements.
Marathon Watches made its name in 1939 by creating timepieces for members of the military, and to this day sells a line of timepieces inspired by the General Purpose (or GP) requirements of the U.S. military during World War II. The same name, GP, gave rise to the name Jeep.
