Volkswagen will reveal a new Golf GTI variant on May 31 during the Nurburgring 24 Hours event. This launch marks the celebration of the Golf's 50th anniversary in 2024.

The announcement came from Thomas Schäfer, CEO of Volkswagen, who posted a short teaser video on LinkedIn confirming the debut date. The video showcased intriguing hints about what to expect from the new variant.

The new Golf GTI variant promises several notable enhancements. A sportier front bumper with an accent that wraps up from the bottom and kicks back toward the outer fenders like inverse fangs is one such highlight. Additionally, it is expected to have a revamped rear bumper and unique wheels. Inside, custom interior trim pieces and special embroidery are anticipated.

Volkswagen has a tradition of releasing special anniversary editions for every five years since the Mk3 20 Years Edition. In 2021, they launched the Clubsport 45 model which was lighter than the standard GTI, featured an Akrapovič titanium sports exhaust, and boasted more power than the regular version.

In a few weeks, VW will announce all the details.
