2024 Volkswagen Golf GTI is now available to order in Germany, with prices starting at 44,505 euros.
With an output of 195 kW (265 hp), the new GTI is 20 hp more powerful than its predecessor. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine delivers maximum power between 5,250 and 6,500 rpm. In addition, 370 Nm of torque is available from 1,600 rpm. All the power is transmitted via the well-known 7-speed DSG; a 6-speed manual gearbox is no longer available.
The updated GTI accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, under six seconds for the first time. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
Externally, the revised Golf GTI can be recognized by the new front end with new LED headlights and an illuminated VW logo, as well as the redesigned LED tail lights and the new 19-inch "Queenstown" alloy wheels. However, the standard version only comes with 17-inch wheels. The Golf GTI can also be identified by the logo on the tailgate and the twin-tube exhaust system with chromed tailpipes on the left and right of the car.
Inside, the model features a newly developed infotainment system that can be controlled via an optically free-standing touchscreen or via IDA (the new voice assistant with "ChatGPT" integration). There are also sport seats with integrated headrests and the GTI-typical checkered pattern. There is red decorative stitching on the seats, centre armrest, floor mats and multi-function steering wheel to emphasise the fact that this interior belongs to a Golf GTI.
An exclusive GTI feature is the Engine/Start/Stop button: after the doors are opened, this pulses red until the turbocharged engine is started. Also fitted as standard are pedal caps in brushed stainless steel, a black headliner and the enhanced Digital Cockpit Pro (digital instruments).
