The Chinese automotive industry is set to introduce a new contender in Europe's SUV market, the Jaecoo J7, over the coming months. This mid-sized SUV measures 4.5 meters and features advanced engine options including a 1.6-litre turbo petrol and a later-available plug-in hybrid.

With an approximate starting price of €40,000, the Jaecoo J7 positions itself as a serious competitor in the segment.

Central to this model's appeal is its interior design and technology features. The SUV sports a vertically-oriented 14.8-inch infotainment system powered by Qualcomm's 8155 processor, lacking any physical controls for a modern touch interface experience. It accommodates various functionalities such as customizable LED lighting, climate control, and connectivity options including wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The craftsmanship within the cabin suggests high-quality aspirations with generous use of soft-touch materials, leather, and steel-look moldings that contribute to a refined environment. Passenger comfort is enhanced through features such as double-glazed windows at the front and electrically adjustable heated seats both in the front and rear.

Space inside rivals that found in C-segment SUVs like Hyundai Tucson or Jeep Compass especially notable for its ample legroom and headroom in the rear seats. For cargo needs, boot capacity ranges from 420 liters up to 1,330 liters when utilizing the flexible 60:40 split-fold rear seating arrangement.
