With competition intensifying in the Chinese electric car market, General Motors has updated its Wuling Bingo to compete with the popular BYD Seagull. The updated version of the Wuling Bingo features a new water-cooled engine as well as other improvements.

The BYD Seagull, also known in Europe and some Latin American countries as the Dolphin Mini, has been a strong contender in the market due to its affordability and impressive range. With a starting price of around $11,000, it has a 75 hp engine and is capable of reaching a top speed of 130 km/h.

On the other hand, the 2024 model year Wuling Bingo has received a number of changes designed to make it more competitive. While the design has remained largely unchanged, the higher trims of the model now feature a new water-cooled engine that matches its main rival's top speed of 130 km/h. The updates also include different battery options with capacities ranging from 17.3 kWh to 37.9 kWh and shorter charging times.

The Bingo has a base price of approximately $7,828, which is lower than the Seagull's $9,500 price tag. However, only the 41bhp version is available for $7,828. If you compare similar versions, the Wuling Bingo and BYD Seagull are within about $200 of each other.
