An updated version of the second-generation Qashqai crossover has been found in the database of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. This is a unique model, as in other countries Nissan Qashqai has already gone into the third generation.

The updated version of the second-generation Nissan Qashqai (in the US this model was known as the Rogue Sport) will be sold in China under the designation Qashqai Classic alongside the new generation. This car is produced under licence from Nissan by local company Dongfeng Motors.

The facelift includes a completely redesigned front end, which is in line with Nissan's current design language seen on models such as the new X-Trail / Rogue and Ariya. Major updates include new LED headlights integrated into the enlarged V-motion grille that dominates the front bumper. The bonnet, vehicle profile, glazing line and rear end are retained from the predecessor.

Updated taillights with LED graphics have a darker hue. New alloy wheels complete the aesthetic updates to the exterior. Unfortunately, there are no pictures of the Qashqai Classic's interior yet. However, they are most likely minimal and come down to updates to the displays and other electronics of the car.

Under the bonnet of the updated crossover is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 140 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. It works in tandem with the Xtronic CVT transmission. This version of the model is exclusively front-wheel drive.

The official presentation of the updated Nissan Qashqai Classic in China is expected in the coming months.
