While the facelifted D-Max has been available in other markets since late 2023, Isuzu UK continues to release special editions of the outgoing model. The latest is the Isuzu D-Max Mudmaster, equipped with various off-road accessories.

Based on the flagship V-Cross trim, the Mudmaster includes a snorkel for water crossings, a rear canopy, a roof rack, additional LEDs, and a winch concealed beneath a lift-up metal license plate. The truck also features extra cladding, steel underbody protection, wind visors, fender extensions, side steps, white Isuzu badging, and Mudmaster decals. It rides on 20-inch Hurricane alloy wheels with Toyo Open Country A/T III tires and a Pedders off-road suspension kit, increasing ground clearance by 1.75 inches (45 mm).

Interior upgrades include illuminated scuff plates, rubber mats, and heavy-duty seat covers. The rest of the cabin retains the V-Cross trim features, including a 9-inch infotainment system.

The Mudmaster is powered by a 1.9-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine, producing 162 hp (121 kW / 164 PS) and 360 Nm (266 lb-ft) of torque, paired with a 4WD system and either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.

The Isuzu D-Max Mudmaster is available to order in the UK, starting at £36,495 ($47,100) for the manual and £38,495 ($49,679) for the automatic, making it more affordable than the limited-production Isuzu D-Max Steel Edition. Isuzu highlights that the D-Max has one of the most extensive accessory catalogs in the industry, ideal for off-roading, camping, or overlanding.

The Mudmaster is expected to be one of the final special editions of the outgoing D-Max before the facelifted version arrives in the UK. Additionally, Isuzu is developing a fully electric version of the D-Max set to debut in 2025. Competitors in the midsize pickup market include the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux, VW Amarok, and Mitsubishi L200.
