Lego is celebrating the 45th anniversary of the Mercedes G-Class with a new Technic set, priced at $249.99 and consisting of 2,891 pieces.

This 2,891-piece set is part of Lego’s Technic lineup, emphasizing functionality over aesthetics. However, the model is unmistakably a G-Class with its rugged, boxy design, including slab-sided bodywork, bulging fender flares, beefy bumpers, and a spare tire carrier. It also features a ladder, roof rack, and functional doors, hood, and tailgate.

The model includes a ‘working’ inline-six engine, a gearbox with drive, neutral, and reverse settings, two locking differentials, and a functional steering system. Measuring 43 cm (16.5 inches) long, 20 cm (8 inches) wide, and 22 cm (8.5 inches) tall, the set is available worldwide.

For those seeking a more affordable option, Lego offers an 808-piece Speed Champions kit that includes a G63 and an SL63 for $44.99. This set is more kid-friendly, with the G63 measuring 18 cm (7 inches) long.
