Honda has launched the facelifted Civic in Japan, introducing a sporty-looking RS trim. The RS features a stock turbo 1.5-liter engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission, rev-matching, and a sportier suspension.

The Japanese Civic RS sports a five-door hatchback body style and closely resembles the concept from the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon. It features a redesigned bumper across the range, with the RS distinguished by special emblems, darker trim, black 18-inch wheels, and functional tailpipes.

The hot hatch look can be enhanced with genuine accessories from the Honda Access catalog. Highlights include a large wing similar to the Civic Type R, a discreet ducktail spoiler, aerodynamic bumper extensions, and sporty grille and lower bumper garnish.

Inside, the RS trim includes red inserts on the dashboard and door cards, contrasting with dark-themed upholstery. It's the only trim in Japan offered with a six-speed manual gearbox, while the rest of the lineup features a CVT.

The manual transmission is paired with a turbocharged 1.5-liter VTEC engine producing 180 hp (134 kW / 182 PS). The Civic RS also boasts a sportier suspension and a rev-matching system.

The facelifted Civic range in Japan includes the LX and EX trims, available with either the turbo 1.5-liter gasoline engine or the "Sports e:HEV" self-charging hybrid powertrain.

The updated Honda Civic will launch in Japan in September 2024. Pricing starts at ¥3,448,500 ($23,150) for the 1.5 VTEC and ¥3,998,500 ($26,870) for the e:HEV. The manual Honda Civic RS is priced at ¥4,198,700 ($28,162).
