The DMC-EV isn't just a facelift of the iconic 80s sports car. Lynx Motors has reimagined the DeLorean from the ground up, keeping the stainless steel body but adding a bunch of modern touches.
Up front, the grille is now fully enclosed and sports a 'DMC-EV' badge. The headlights have been upgraded to modern LEDs, and the lower bodywork gets a fresh coat of paint. At the back, new taillights catch the eye, along with a bumper that looks like it's wrapped in glass and a hefty diffuser.
Step inside, and you'll find a cabin that's a far cry from the original. A new three-spoke carbon fiber steering wheel greets the driver, facing a massive display that stretches across most of the dashboard. The center console houses what appears to be a wireless smartphone charger and a rotary controller with its own built-in display. The door panels have been updated, and the seats look to be modern leather affairs with improved support.
Under the hood - or rather, under the floor - the DMC-EV packs some serious punch. Four in-wheel motors provide all-wheel drive, launching the car from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than four seconds. A 70 kWh battery from CATL promises up to 250 miles (402 km) of range on a single charge.
Safety hasn't been overlooked either. The DMC-EV comes equipped with side intrusion protection and traction control, bringing the classic into the 21st century in terms of driver protection.
It's worth noting that Lynx Motors is still putting the finishing touches on the DMC-EV, so some of these details might change before the car rolls off the production line. But one thing's for sure - this isn't your dad's DeLorean.
