Porsche will make 1,974 units of the 911 Turbo 50 Years edition. This number pays tribute to 1974, the year when the original 911 Turbo made its debut.
The anniversary model is based on the 992.1 platform. It packs a twin-turbocharged 3.7-liter boxer engine that produces 641 hp (478 kW / 650 PS) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. The engine pairs with an eight-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission and all-wheel drive system.
Porsche equipped the special edition with a sport exhaust system featuring black tailpipes. The car also gets a PASM sport suspension that lowers the ride height by 0.4 inches.
The exterior design of the 911 Turbo 50 Years edition draws inspiration from the 1973 Porsche 911 RSR Turbo concept. It features decals that mimic the livery of that car. Porsche used an Anthracite Grey finish on several parts, including the rear wing, lower rear fascia, mirror bases, and bumper intakes.
A unique Turbonite shade appears on the alloy wheels, rear decklid, fuel cap, Porsche crest, and Turbo 50 badging. The engine cover sports "1974-2024" lettering and a turbo icon, which also shows up in the puddle lights.
Inside, the car's design takes cues from the 1970s Zeitgeist movement. The seats and door panels feature MacKenzie tartan inserts. Turbonite accents appear on the seatbelts and contrast stitching. A perforated RaceTex material covers the roof liner.
Turbo 50 badges adorn the illuminated door sills, headrests, and a numbered anniversary plaque. The interior also includes a custom dashboard-mounted clock.
Porsche offers an optional Heritage Design Package '50 Years Turbo'. This package paints the body in Aventurine Green Metallic and the hood in brilliant silver. It also adds silk matte decals inspired by vintage race cars. Customers can choose to partially or fully remove these decals if they prefer.
The 911 Turbo 50 Years is now available for order in Germany, with prices starting at 274,000 euros including VAT. Deliveries will begin in the fall of 2024. It can already be seen in the current special exhibition "Beyond Performance - 50 Years of Porsche Turbo" at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen.
In the U.S., the Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years starts at $261,100, plus a $1,995 delivery, processing, and handling fee. That's $30,700 more than the 2025 911 Turbo S Coupe on which it's based.
Porsche is also offering a limited edition chronograph with a black dial and turbonite accents, limited to 1,974 pieces.
