Ford is bringing back some classic touches to the 2024 Mustang lineup. The company will offer free SVT Cobra-inspired digital gauges for all 2024 Mustangs and add a Brittany Blue color option for the 60th Anniversary model.

The new digital gauges take inspiration from the 1999-2001 SVT Cobra. They'll show a white face with bold black numbers during the day and switch to a black face with white numbers at night. This design is specific to those model years and will be available as a free over-the-air update for all 2024 Mustang owners. It's the second retro gauge update this year, following the 1967 Mustang-inspired gauges announced in April.

Ford's also introducing a Brittany Blue color option for a small batch of the 1,965 60th Anniversary Mustangs. This color harks back to the 1967 Mustang and will be exclusive to the anniversary model.

Joe Bellino, Mustang brand manager, explained the reasoning behind this move:

"Mustang has thrived for 60 years by taking risks and giving customers something a little bit different, a little bit more special than you'd get elsewhere. By dropping a color like this, we're giving customers a chance to stand out even among the rarefied ranks of Mustang 60th Anniversary owners."

Getting your hands on a Brittany Blue 60th Anniversary Mustang won't be easy. Ford will use a process similar to the Mustang GTD application for these cars. They'll only be available on hardtops with a 10-speed automatic transmission and the 401A option package. The price tag? $65,245, which is about $1,000 more than the starting price of a Dark Horse Premium.

This isn't the first time Ford's brought back retro gauge designs. The 1996-1998 Cobras had gauges with a thinner font for numbers, while the 2003-2004 models featured red SVT lettering on the tachometer.

Ford announced the 60th Anniversary Mustang earlier this year with three initial color options. With the addition of Brittany Blue, Mustang enthusiasts now have another choice to celebrate six decades of this iconic American sports car.
