The eTGL joins MAN's existing electric trucks, the eTGX for long-distance transport and the eTGS for distribution. This new model aims to serve food chains, retailers, and the catering industry. It's built with city use in mind, featuring excellent maneuverability, a 4.50-metre wheelbase, and body lengths ranging from 6.20 to 7.30 metres. The eTGL can carry a maximum payload of 6.6 tonnes.
The eTGL comes equipped with two battery packs, placed on the left and right of the frame. These batteries, produced at MAN's Nuremberg plant, offer a usable capacity of 160 kWh. The truck uses a CCS connection for charging and can handle up to 250 kW of power, allowing it to charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 30 minutes.
With a range of 235 kilometres, the eTGL delivers 210 kW of power to the rear axle via a drive shaft. The day cab is modeled after its diesel counterpart and features a low entrance for frequent entry and exit. A 12.3-inch fully digital display provides comprehensive information on battery status, range, energy requirements, and recuperation.

With its high payload, short charging times and optimum range for urban logistics, the eTGL perfectly rounds off our eTruck portfolio," said Alexander Vlaskamp, CEO of MAN Truck & Bus, at the presentation of the new lightweight electric distribution truck.
MAN has set an ambitious goal: by 2030, they want 50% of their trucks registered in Europe to be purely battery-electric. To support this transition, the company is part of a joint venture called Milence, partnering with the Traton Group, Daimler Truck, and Volvo Group to develop charging infrastructure.
The company will officially unveil the eTGL at the IAA Transportation event in Hanover from September 17 to 22.
