Škoda is gearing up to launch its new all-electric compact SUV, the Elroq. The Czech automaker has just released the first exterior sketches of this new model, which will be the first production vehicle to feature Škoda's Modern Solid design language.

The Elroq's front end sports a fresh look with Škoda lettering prominently displayed. It also introduces the Tech-Deck Face, a flat, wide structure that replaces the traditional Škoda grille. The Matrix-LED headlights are integrated into a bold bumper, creating a striking appearance. Unique Dark Chrome accents add a touch of sophistication, while a new Elroq-exclusive Timiano Green color option gives buyers a fresh choice.

Karl Neuhold, Head of Exterior Design at Škoda Auto, shared his thoughts on the new design:

"The all-new Škoda Elroq embodies our new Modern Solid design language and takes the exterior design even further with its eye-catching Tech-Deck Face and distinctive front bumper. The Škoda lettering on the bonnet stands out as another characteristic feature of our all-new fully electric car, with accents in Unique Dark Chrome rounding off the look. Thanks to its long range and rugged body style, the Elroq will be the perfect companion for Everyday Explorers on outdoor adventures, while its compact size also makes it ideal for urban driving."

The Elroq's headlights feature a split design with a slimmer upper section that extends into the wings. At the rear, you'll find a prominent roof spoiler and slim LED taillights. The tailgate displays centrally positioned Škoda lettering in Unique Dark Chrome, while the alloy wheels sport a 2D Škoda logo on their center caps.

Under the hood, the Elroq shares its MEB platform with the Enyaq family. Škoda plans to offer several powertrain options:

  • Elroq 50: 55 kWh battery, 125 kW motor, rear-wheel drive
  • Elroq 60: 63 kWh battery, 150 kW motor rear-wheel drive
  • Elroq 85: 82 kWh battery, 210 kW motor rear-wheel drive
  • Elroq 85x: 82 kWh battery, 220 kW motor, all-wheel drive

The automaker claims the Elroq will have a range of more than 560 kilometers (about 348 miles) on the WLTP cycle. All variants will be able to charge from 10% to 80% in less than 28 minutes.

As Škoda continues to reveal more details about the Elroq, it's clear that this new electric SUV will play a crucial role in the company's future strategy and its transition towards electrification.
