China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has revealed the Nissan Yuanye Z9, a new mid-size truck likely to serve as the local version of the Nissan Navara.

While it's unclear if this model will remain exclusive to China or be part of the global Triton-based Navara lineup, it offers insights into the potential design of future models.

The Yuanye Z9 features a bold, boxy design with a large mesh grille and vertical headlights. It has rugged black plastic cladding, side steps, and an optional sport bar, with additional features like a panoramic moonroof and a tonneau cover. The rear is simple, with vertical taillights and a practical bumper designed for easy bed access.

In terms of size, the Z9 is larger than the current Navara, measuring 217.3 inches (5,520 mm) long and 77.2 inches (1,960 mm) wide, with a wheelbase of 129.9 inches (3,300 mm). It surpasses the Mitsubishi Triton in both length and wheelbase, hinting that the two trucks may not share a platform despite being part of the same alliance.

The Z9 will be available with a choice of engines, including a 2.0-liter gasoline engine producing up to 255 hp and a 3.0-liter diesel engine delivering 188 hp. A plug-in hybrid variant is also expected to follow. The truck's top speeds range from 99 mph (160 km/h) for gasoline versions to 106 mph (170 km/h) for the diesel model.
