The electric vehicle maker dropped the video on September 26, exactly 42 years after Knight Rider first hit TV screens.
The 15-second clip starts with a guy in leather walking into a dark scene. He's greeted by a red light that looks just like KITT's from the show. There's even that whooshing noise KITT used to make. But when the lights come on, it's not KITT - it's a Rivian vehicle, all black with blacked-out badges.
Rivian's keeping quiet about what this means, only saying, "Keep your scanners peeled. A new adventure arrives this October."
Some fans are hoping for a KITT-themed software update. They'd love to see a moving red light on the bar between the headlights, just like KITT had. But that might not be possible because of laws about what colors lights can be on the front of cars.
If they can't do the light, Rivian might have other KITT-like features planned. Or this could just be a fun promotion without any real changes to the cars.
For those who don't remember, Knight Rider was a big deal back in the day. KITT, which stood for Knight Industries Two Thousand, was a talking Pontiac Firebird. It's still one of the most famous cars from TV or movies.
