The Elroq measures 4.49 meters in length, making it 16 cm shorter than its larger sibling, the Enyaq. Skoda built the new SUV on the Modular Electric Kit (MEB) platform, giving it a wheelbase of 2.77 meters.
Skoda's designers have embraced a new 'Modern Solid' approach for the Elroq. The front features a modest panel instead of a traditional radiator grille. Daytime running lights form a dashed line at the top, with LED headlights positioned just below. The Skoda name now appears on the front hood, replacing the usual logo.
Inside, drivers will find a new steering wheel design sporting the Skoda lettering. A 13-inch touchscreen comes standard, along with a digital instrument cluster. For those who want more, an optional head-up display with augmented reality is available.
Boot capacity ranges from 470 to 1,580 litres. While this is less than the Enyaq's 585-1,710 liters, the Elroq makes up for it with practical features. These include a ski loading hatch, double loading floor, and a tailgate net for storing the charging cable. In a nod to practicality, Skoda has even integrated an ice scraper into the tailgate side.
Skoda will offer the Elroq in several powertrain configurations. Rear-wheel drive options include 125 kW and 150 kW versions using the older engine, as well as a 210 kW variant with the new APP550 rear engine. An all-wheel drive model with 220 kW of power is also expected, placing it between the Volkswagen ID.4 Pro 4Motion (210 kW) and the ID.4 GTX (250 kW).
Two battery options will be available: the Elroq 50 with eight modules and the Elroq 60 with nine modules. Skoda hasn't released range figures yet, but the aerodynamic design, with a cW value between 0.26 and 0.28 depending on the version, should help maximize efficiency.

Skoda has equipped the Elroq with some high-tech features. A small slider in the center console controls drive modes, while a bar of physical buttons manages assistance systems, driving modes, and climate control. The onboard assistant, named Laura, now comes with ChatGPT AI support for enhanced interaction.
The Škoda Elroq is priced at €33,900, which is €2,000 less than the Kia EV3 in Germany. However, it has a slightly lower maximum range than its Korean competitor. On the other hand, the boot is larger, with a capacity of 470 to 1,580 litres, compared to 460 to 1,251 litres for the Kia. The configurator is already available online in major European markets. Deliveries expected to start in the first quarter of 2025.
