The French automaker aims to become the top mainstream manufacturer in the European electric vehicle market. They're planning to offer a complete range of 12 fully electric models to achieve this goal.
Peugeot's E-3008 has already received more than 67,000 orders, with 60% of buyers choosing the high-end GT trim. The 5008 orders have been very encouraging since mid-June 2024. To meet demand, the Sochaux plant is ramping up production by adding a third night shift.
The new long-range versions come in two trims. The E-3008 Allure starts at €46,990 and is eligible for a €4,000 eco-bonus, while the GT trim is priced at €51,490. The E-5008 Allure begins at €51,490, with the GT version at €55,990.
Peugeot will showcase the E-3008 Long Range at the Paris Motor Show from October 14th to 20th, 2024.
Both models are assembled at the Sochaux plant, using batteries from the ACC gigafactory in Douvrin, France. They're built on the STLA Medium platform and feature a 96.9 kWh useful capacity battery that's 15 mm thicker than the standard version but doesn't affect interior space or boot volume.
The electric motor delivers 230 hp/170 kW. At superchargers, these SUVs can charge at up to 160 kW, going from 20% to 80% in 27 minutes. A quick 10-minute charge can add 150 km of range.
The cars come with a battery pre-conditioning feature that optimizes initial charging times during long trips and in low temperatures. It activates automatically when the car is plugged in, the charging limit is set to 100%, and cabin pre-conditioning is on.
Peugeot isn't stopping here. They're already planning a 320 Dual Motor AWD version with all-wheel drive for the future.
