Spy photographers have caught a first glimpse inside the heavily camouflaged prototype of the Kia EV4 sedan. It reveals a widescreen dashboard.

The interior of the EV4 features a wide, slim glass panel that stretches from the driver's side all the way to the far side of the center console. As we already know from this car's SUV sister, the EV3, this panel houses a 5.3-inch climate control display, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen media system.

Below this floating screen unit, there's a control panel with touch-sensitive buttons for main shortcuts like Home, Map, and Media. A revolving drum-style volume control adds a touch of tactile interaction, while air vents flank either side of the panel.

The EV4 will likely come packed with the latest tech. Drivers can expect features like ChatGPT AI voice control, wireless Apple CarPlay, and wireless Android Auto to keep them connected on the go.

Under the hood, the EV4 will use the Hyundai Motor Group's E-GMP electric platform, which it shares with its sister car, the EV3 SUV, as well as other models like the EV6 and EV9. While the exact electrical system isn't confirmed yet, it's likely to follow the EV3 with a 400-volt system to keep costs down.

A stronger connection between EV3 and EV4 would mean that the sedan would get a choice of 58.3 kWh and 81.4 kWh battery packs. Base models would be equipped with a single 201 hp (204 PS / 150 kW) electric motor. A more powerful two-motor variant with all-wheel drive is also in the pipeline.

Kia isn't putting all its eggs in one basket, though. While the current spy shots confirm a sedan body style, previous photos have also revealed plans for an upright hatchback version. The EV4 is set to hit the market next year, squarely aimed at taking on the Tesla Model 3.
