In the compact car group, priced up to €35,000, the Citroën C3/Ë-C3 came out on top. BMW's 5 Series/i5 won in the premium category for cars under €70,000. The Cadillac Lyriq took the crown in the luxury segment, which includes cars over €70,000.
For cars with alternative power sources, the Audi Q6/SQ6 got the nod. The Porsche 911 Carrera GTS T-Hybrid raced ahead in the performance class.
The German Car of the Year was determined from the five class winners during extensive test drives around Bad Dürkheim. The overall winner will be announced on November 13, 2024.
