Honda is saying goodbye to its Super Cub 50 model with a bang. The company's rolling out two special editions of the iconic bike before it stops making them.

The Super Cub 50's going away because of tougher rules on emissions and the rise of electric scooters. But Honda's not letting it go quietly.

Starting November 8, you can order one of 2,000 "Final Edition" Super Cub 50s. These bikes look back to the good old days with white and blue paint, silver and chrome touches, and a two-tone seat. They've even got an old-school look to the speedometer and a special "Honda 50 Final Edition" badge on the front. It's like a trip back to 1966 when the first Super Cub C50 hit the streets. Each bike comes with its own special key and will set you back 270,000 yen (about $1,765).

But wait, there's more! Honda's also making a Hello Kitty version to celebrate the famous cat's 50th birthday. Only 300 of these will be made, and they're decked out with cat-inspired side covers, special badges, and a seat covered in Hello Kitty characters. These will cost 300,000 yen (around $1,961).

Both special editions keep the same 49cc engine as the regular Super Cub 50, putting out 3.7 horsepower and 3.8 Nm of torque.

Even though the 50cc version's riding off into the sunset, the Super Cub story's not over. The bigger Super Cub 110, with its 109cc engine making 8 horsepower and 8.8 Nm of torque, will keep on trucking.
