Volvo's EX30 electric crossover will hit U.S. dealerships sooner than expected. The car maker just announced it'll arrive late this year, reversing their previous delay.

Volvo first showed off the EX30 last summer and planned to bring it to the U.S. in 2023. But they pushed that back to 2025 because of high tariffs on Chinese EVs. To dodge those fees, they moved production from China to Belgium.

Now, Volvo's speeding things up again. They'll start delivering the EX30 Twin Motor Performance model in late 2024, priced at $44,900.

The Twin Motor Performance packs a punch. It's got a 69 kWh battery and all-wheel drive from two motors. That gives it 422 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, enough to zoom from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. It'll go 253 miles on a full charge, and you can juice it up from 10% to 80% in about 26 minutes with fast charging.

Volvo's still planning to bring out a Single Motor version of the EX30 in 2025. That one will start at $34,950. It'll have one motor in the back with 268 hp and 253 lb-ft of torque. It'll take 5.1 seconds to hit 60 mph, but it'll go further on a charge than the Twin Motor model.
