The A3 allstreet 40 TFSI e stands out with its "crossover" design. Audi has added plastic safety features and raised the car by 30 mm compared to the A3 Sportback. The standard equipment includes 17-inch wheels and a specially tuned suspension. A progressive steering with variable gear ratio, depending on the steering angle, is available as an option.
Hidden under the bonnet is a 1.5-litre TFSI evo2 petrol engine with 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque. This unit is paired with an electric motor that adds another 115 hp and 330 Nm. The maximum peak power of the system reaches 204 hp. The car can accelerate up to 225 km/h in hybrid mode or travel up to 140 km/h on electric power alone.
With a usable battery capacity of 19.7 kWh, the plug-in hybrid A3 allstreet can travel up to 140 kilometres on electricity alone. At the same time, the A3 allstreet 40 TFSI e supports 50 kW fast charging. In this case, it is possible to charge the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in half an hour. If you use a conventional 11 kW AC charger, however, a full charge will take around two and a half hours.
In Germany, the A3 allstreet 40 TFSI e can be ordered now with prices starting from €46,000. The PHEV will also be available in other parts of Europe, but Audi is yet to reveal where.
