Genesis is making its popular GV70 even better. The luxury brand has unveiled a refreshed version of the SUV for the 2026 model year, featuring minor styling updates and improved features.

The GV70 remains Genesis' top-selling model in North America. The brand, which spun off from Hyundai nearly a decade ago, offers the GV70 in both gas and electric versions.

Under the hood, buyers can choose between two combustion engines. There's a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder producing 300 horsepower or a more powerful twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 pumping out 375 horsepower. The electric GV70 gets an upgraded 84-kWh battery, up from 77.4-kWh in the 2025 model. This will extend the range beyond the current 236 miles.

Inside, Genesis has installed a new 27-inch OLED screen that stretches from the driver's instrument cluster to the infotainment system. The exterior sees some changes too. Gas-powered models sport a larger, more dramatic grille with swoopy, boomerang-shaped cut-outs replacing the rounded mesh pieces. The electric version swaps its black mesh for body-color mesh and adds a chrome guitar pick-shaped main piece.

Genesis has improved the electric GV70's charging port. It now features an electric motor for easier opening and closing, a heating feature for cold weather charging, and new lighting for better visibility. The port uses the North American Charging Standard (NACS), but Genesis includes a CCS adapter for non-Tesla charging stations.

The 2026 GV70 comes with several new features. Highway Body Motion Control improves comfort during acceleration and deceleration. A digital key allows drivers to unlock and manage their car using their phone. There's also a new Terrain Mode that optimizes driving settings for snow, mud, or sand conditions.

"The GV70 has been crucial to Genesis' success in North America," a Genesis spokesperson said. "With these updates, we're confident it will continue to lead our lineup and attract new customers to the brand."Genesis hasn't announced pricing for the 2026 GV70 yet, but it's expected to be in line with the current model. The refreshed SUV will hit dealerships later this year, giving luxury car buyers another compelling option in the competitive compact SUV segment.
