How were the finalists chosen?

50 automotive journalists from the United States and Canada evaluated the models based on criteria such as design, innovation, performance, driver satisfaction and overall value. Each jury member uses a different approach to evaluation, making it a special achievement for the manufacturers to be shortlisted.

The winners in each category will be announced on 10 January 2025 during the Detroit Auto Show media days.
