It has been revealed how many Ford Mustang and Ford Mustang Mach-E cars will be sold in 2024 in the US. Spoiler alert: the regular Mustang will do worse than ever.

Only 44,003 units of the Ford Mustang were sold in the United States in 2024, the worst result in the 60-year history of the model. At the same time, sales of the electric Ford Mustang Mach-E totalled a record 51,745 units.

Ford Mustang sales have been steadily declining for years, with the exception of 2023, when numbers rose slightly. The previous worst year for the Mustang was 2022, when 47,566 units were sold. Sales fell especially hard, to 7,518 units, in the fourth quarter of 2024. That compares to sales of the Chevrolet Camaro before General Motors discontinued it.

Mustang Mach-E sales are up 27 per cent in 2024 compared to 2023. The model had a successful fourth quarter with 16,119 units sold and a 35.6 per cent increase. Ford's aggressive pricing policy as well as various incentives for buyers contributed to this success.
