The Dacia Sandero has regained the title of the best-selling car in Europe, taking it away from the Tesla Model Y. In 2024, 309,392 copies of this model were sold on the continent, 14.5% more than in 2023.

The Dacia Sandero is the first Dacia brand model with annual sales of over 300,000 units. In addition, the 2024 Sandero also retained the title of Europe's best-selling car in terms of private sales, a title it has held since 2017. And the Dacia brand remained the continent's biggest car seller among retail buyers.

In total, Dacia sold 676,340 cars last year, up 2.7 per cent on 2023 and accounting for 3.9 per cent of all passenger car sales in Europe. It also means that Dacia has sold more than nine million cars since 2004.

In 2024, 215,024 Duster units were sold, up 12.3 per cent from a year earlier, although this figure includes both second- and new third-generation models. The seven-seat Jogger has also grown in popularity, given that 96,440 units have found their first owners - up 2.4 per cent on 2023.

Spring, Dacia's only electric vehicle, saw a 63 per cent drop in sales compared to 2023. Dacia believes the reason for this drop was a reduction in government incentives for electric cars, although sales did start to pick up after the introduction of a new modernised model in September.

In 2025, Dacia promises to step up electrification of its model range with hybrid powertrains.
