The Volkswagen Tiguan and Tayron crossovers are now available with two versions of the 2.0 TSI petrol engine:
- 204 hp (150 kW) and 320 N-m torque;
- 265 hp (195 kW) and 400 N-m of torque - the engine from the Golf GTI, but with different settings.
The Passat with this engine is exclusively available in the 265 hp version.
The 4MOTION system uses a multi-plate clutch to connect the rear axle. Under normal conditions (e.g. in the city on dry roads), traction is only transferred to the front wheels, saving fuel. The rear axle is engaged when the load increases or when traction is lost. If the situation requires, all-wheel drive can be activated manually.
There is a special Trailer mode for towing a trailer - it is activated automatically. The Tiguan and Passat can pull up to 2,200kg, the Tayron up to 2,500kg.
The Tiguan 2.0 TSI 4MOTION starts from 48,200 euros. Tayron - from 50,800 euros. Passat starts from 62,990 euros. It should be borne in mind that all versions of these models with 265 hp engine are available only in the R-Line version. Sales of updated versions have already started in selected markets in Europe.
