The Mazda EZ-6 hatchback is on sale in the Chinese market from October 2024 with prices ranging from 139,800 to 179,800 yuan (17,500 to 22,500 euros or 19,200 to 24,700 US dollars). The model is available in an all-electric version (EV), as well as a modification with a petrol engine in the generator role (EREV).
The EZ-6 measures 4,921 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,895 mm. The model is based on the Changan EPA platform.
The Mazda 6e had its European premiere in January 2025 at the Brussels Motor Show. Then Mazda announced that the five-door rear-wheel drive electric car will go on sale in the summer and will be the successor to the Mazda 6 sedan. The letter "e" was added to the name to make it easier to identify the model as an electric car.
The base version is equipped with a 68.8 kWh battery pack that provides a range of up to 479 kilometres on the WLTP cycle. With 200 kW DC charging, the battery is charged from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in 22 minutes and the range can be increased by 235 km in 15 minutes. The power output of the electric motor is 190 kW (258 hp).
The second version is the Mazda6e Long Range with an 80 kWh battery and a range of up to 552 kilometres according to WLTP. The electric motor here develops up to 180 kW (245 hp).
In Europe, the Mazda6e will be available in two trim levels: Takumi and Takumi Plus.
Takumi provides a faux leather interior in Warm Beige or Black. The Takumi Plus will come with premium Tan Nappa and Suede leather, as well as an electrically dimmable roof. Also available for the hatchback is a SonyPRO audio system with 14 speakers.
Equipment includes nine airbags and a driver assistance system with autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition.
