Range Rover L322 owners will be able to use wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via a head unit that has been adapted to modern requirements. The manufacturer's solution retains the original screen and keys, and gets a specific system interface to blend in with the now-defunct model.
Land Rover claims that the update retains all the existing features and sound quality of the original audio system, while also adding new features. These include music streaming services, podcasts and navigation apps with real-time congestion updates.
Land Rover has not yet disclosed the cost of the upgrade, but says that buyers in the UK and Germany will get a two-year warranty on the upgrade.
This isn't the first time the automaker has rolled out a multimedia system upgrade for older models. For instance, Porsche launched an upgrade programme for the 911, Boxster and Cayenne models in 2022. However, unlike Land Rover, Porsche is completely replacing the head unit rather than using the original equipment.
