Toyota's European division has announced the presentation of a new car for 21 May. The company does not name the model and does not give any additional information except a few photos. But judging by the photos, we are talking about the sixth-generation RAV4.
Judging by the silhouette, the new RAV4 has got a more "off-road" look inspired by the older Land Cruiser. The car has even more chopped body shapes, emphasising the utilitarian style.
The interior has also seen some notable changes. One image shows the model getting a new screen architecture like the Land Cruiser and Urban Cruiser, but with a "hover" layout instead of integrated displays. In another image, the massive centre console with cupholders can be seen.
Although Toyota hasn't revealed technical details yet, the 2.5-litre hybrid powertrain is expected to remain, available with front-wheel drive (4x2) and all-wheel drive (4x4) like the current fifth-generation model (XA50). A Plug-in Hybrid version with all-wheel drive is also likely to remain in the range, but with increased electric range. Recall that the current version travels up to 75 kilometres on a single charge in the WLTP cycle.
The new RAV4 is expected to go on sale at the end of 2025.
