Nissan has presented a new, sixth generation of the Micra. This time, without internal combustion engines, the compact hatchback has become fully electric, based on the Renault 5.

The sixth-generation Micra shares a platform with the Renault 5, but features original design elements. In particular, the car has a redesigned front and rear body with round headlights and a different stern design. The sides have also changed: a wide stamped-out area has appeared under the glazing line. However, the "hidden" rear handles in the pillars remain, as does the five-door configuration.

The Micra remains one of the most compact cars in its class: it is less than four metres long, just under 1.8 metres wide and has a wheelbase of 2.54 metres. Despite its modest size, the hatchback can be equipped with 18-inch wheels - three design options, including hubcaps, are available.

The interior is almost entirely borrowed from the Renault 5. There are two 10.1-inch displays on the front panel, slightly turned towards the driver. Physical controls are located under the central air ducts. An interesting feature is the interior lighting, available in 48 shades - a rarity for the B-Class.

The Micra will have two battery options: a basic 40 kWh battery and an extended 52 kWh battery. In the first case, the electric motor develops 90 kW (122 hp) and 225 Nm, in the second - 110 kW (150 hp) and 245 Nm. The range is up to 310 km on the smaller battery and up to 408 km on the larger one (according to the WLTP cycle). The vehicle weighs between 1,400 and 1,524 kg, depending on the configuration.

Micra will be produced at Renault's plant in Douai (France), where the Renault 5 will be produced from 2024. European sales of the new electric car will begin by the end of 2025.
