The Opel Mokka GSE Rally is a racing concept that hints at the German brand's return to rallying and suggests the appearance of the most powerful modification of the electric crossover. The new model may take part in the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup powered by GSE electric series, which will start in 2026.

The Mokka GSE Rally is the first car to be developed in accordance with the new FIA eRally5 regulations. The car is equipped with a 207 kW (281 hp) electric motor with 345 Nm of torque - the same power unit as the Alfa Romeo Junior Elettrica 280, built on a similar eCMP platform from Stellantis. The power is supplied by a familiar traction battery with a capacity of 54 kWh (50.8 kWh of useful capacity). The range has not yet been disclosed - the rally car is focused on performance.

Despite sharing a common architecture with the road-going models, the Opel Mokka rally car has specific equipment: a multi-disc differential lock, a sports transmission, seats with six-point harnesses, a safety frame, a fire extinguishing system and underbody protection. There are no electronic assistants - safety and control are provided by mechanical means.

Some of the visual elements of the prototype, such as the bright yellow calipers and wheels, aggressive body kit and roof air intake, are attributes of the motorsport modification, but they may well be carried over to the civilian version of the Mokka GSE. There is a chance of this happening, given Opel's desire to emphasise the sporty image of the GSE (Grand Sport Electric) line.

The Opel Mokka GSE Rally prototype will be unveiled publicly on 23-24 May in the Netherlands, during the next round of the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup. The production version of the Mokka GSE is likely to be announced at a later date - and, if it retains the prototype's specifications, will be the most powerful Opel Mokka yet.
