A unique Ferrari F2001 car was sold at a Sotheby's auction held as part of the Monaco Grand Prix. Michael Schumacher won a race on it and won the championship title in 2001.

The final bid was 15.98 million euros or approximately $ 18.17 million. According to the New York Times, this amount was a record among the bolides owned by the German racer and used in official races.

Ferrari F2001 with chassis number 211 is really special. As well as winning in Monaco, it brought Schumacher a triumph in Hungary, securing a fourth championship title. It is also the last car on which the driver won a race in Monaco.

Bolide has undergone maintenance with the participation of specialists Ferrari and is almost ready to go on the track. To return the car to working order it remains to install new fuel tanks - they have already been ordered and paid for by the current owner.
