The updated emblem will be publicly presented on July 8 on the new future vision concept car. This vehicle will also showcase a new design language for future Bentley cars.
The design of the new "Winged B" emblem was created by Robin Page with the support of a small internal team. Initially, a competition was held that allowed the entire team of designers to present their ideas in the form of sketches. The winning design was by Young Nam, a member of the interior design team. His concept was then refined and detailed in the final iteration.
The mission in developing the new emblem was to reflect characteristic details from previous designs - for example, the diamond-pattern inside the wings and the central precious stone B, but to create a more modern and progressive look.
The shape of the new wings is sharper and more dramatic compared to the previous iteration - resembling the angular wings of a bird of prey, the peregrine falcon. The lower feathers under the letter B have been completely removed for a cleaner visual form. The element with the three-dimensional letter has been retained, but due to the beveled edges of the glass and the metal trim, it now resembles the dial of an expensive watch.
The original "Winged B" design was created by Gordon Crosby in 1919. Updates occurred in 1931, the 1990s, and 2002. However, Bentley emphasizes that the new 2025 design is the most significant change to the instantly recognizable badge in over a century of history.
