Alpine has introduced the customer rally version of the hatchback A290, created in accordance with all the requirements for this class of competition. The electric vehicle with a hydraulic "handbrake" is priced at €59,990.

The rally version of the electric hatchback is based on the production A290, which shares a platform with the new Renault 5 and recently won the European "Car of the Year 2025" competition. The new Rallye version has inherited front-wheel drive and an electric motor with a power of 220 hp (160 kW) from the civil A290, but technically, it is already a different car.

Key changes:

  • ZF mechanical differential lock
  • ALP Racing Suspension
  • 18-inch Evo Corse wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport A tires
  • Upgraded brakes: 350 mm front instead of 320 mm, with six-piston calipers
  • Modified ABS and hydraulic handbrake

The interior is according to FIA standards: Sabelt bucket seats, a safety cage, nothing extra. But Alpine went further - specifically for Rallye fans, it received an external sound generator synchronized with speed and throttle pedal operation. It complements the built-in soundtrack familiar from the production model.

The rally hatchback will be hand-assembled at the Alpine factory in Dieppe, France. The starting price is nearly 40% higher than the production A290, but for this money, the buyer receives a vehicle with the ability to participate in competitions, including a special one-time event in France supported by Alpine and its own charging infrastructure.

The public debut of the A290 Rallye will take place at the Rallye Rouergue Rodez stage this weekend, followed by presentations at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Rallye Mont-Blanc Morzine.
