Sales in China are set to begin by the end of 2025. The VS8 will be sold alongside other models in the lineup, including the VS7. Despite its external similarity in dimensions, the new model has its own style that also differs from European and American VW models.
Although the teaser campaign just started in China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has already revealed official images of the vehicle. The main focus of the design is the body-colored grille with a simple mesh structure. Compact headlights are linked by a thin LED strip. Below are glossy black inserts that mimic air intakes.
The profile of the VS8 is simple, with a barely noticeable dynamic tilt of the side glazing near the rear pillar. At the back, there are bulky taillights, another LED bar, and a bumper with a combined finish. At the bottom, there are two dark sections where dual exhaust outlets could fit perfectly, but in reality, there will likely be one pipe, hidden from view.
According to MIIT documents, the dimensions of the VS8 are 4,629 mm in length, 1,851 mm in width, and 1,624 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,631 mm. The vehicle is built on the MQB platform, like the VS7, and is equipped with a 1.4-liter TSI turbo engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The model is expected to hit the market by the end of the year, but it will be sold exclusively in China.
