Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) has announced the sale of the RA100E engine with serial number V805. This is the last V10 engine of the Formula 1 car that Ayrton Senna raced in the 1990 season.

This engine was installed in the McLaren Honda MP4/5B and was used by Senna during the warm-up before the Japanese Grand Prix in Suzuka and in the race session of the Australian Grand Prix in Adelaide on November 4, 1990. After that, the engine was kept in the condition it was in. Unlike most engines of that time, which were taken apart and scrapped.

The V805 engine will be the first lot of a new initiative by HRC, launched in April 2025. As part of the project, the company will offer motorsport fans authentic racing artifacts: engines, units, and components previously used in competitions.

The RA100E will be displayed in a showcase, with all parts carefully dismantled by HRC mechanics. The set includes the original certificate of authenticity from Honda Racing.

This lot is particularly valuable: the V805 is the last racing V10 Honda that Senna raced, as the team switched to V12 engines in 1991. As a result, the engine was not disassembled or reused.

The auction will take place on August 15 in Carmel, California, as part of the Monterey Car Week festival.
