Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Xpeng has released details about the new version of the P7 fastback on its official Weibo account, including interior features and powertrain versions.

The main feature of the interior is an 87-inch projection display with augmented reality (AR-HUD), which projects navigation, driver assistant hints, and even mini-games directly onto the windshield within the driver’s field of vision. The HUD is complemented by a new three-spoke steering wheel and a digital instrument panel.

The central screen of the multimedia system can physically rotate and interact with the user - it can, for example, “nod” in response to voice commands. Xpeng also announces a new Touch Pad control interface, but details are still scarce.

The seats are sporty, with active side support. The seat bolsters respond to body roll in 10 milliseconds, shifting by 30 mm. There is ventilation, heating, and a massage function.

Dimensions: length - 5,017 mm, width - 1,970 mm, height - 1,427 mm, wheelbase - 3,008 mm. The design was developed by French designer Rafik Ferrag.

The XPeng P7 will be offered in two versions: with rear-wheel drive and a motor with an output of 270 kW, as well as with all-wheel drive, where an additional motor of 167 kW is added to the front axle. The total power of the top version is 437 kW.

For the P7, batteries with capacities of 74.9 and 92.2 kWh will be available. According to the CLTC method, the base rear-wheel drive version travels up to 702 km, the version with extended range - up to 820 km, and the all-wheel drive version - up to 750 km. Of course, real-world values will be lower, but the figures are still impressive. Batteries are supplied by EVE Energy and CALB.

The P7 is built on an 800-volt architecture with power components based on silicon carbide. The platform supports 5C charging technology - according to the manufacturer, under ideal conditions and with the appropriate charging station, 436 km of range can be replenished in 10 minutes.

The prices for the new Xpeng P7 will be announced in late August when it officially goes on sale.
